Livermore Reception Jan 3, 2009

When we got into town we went Peking Chinese Restaurant with Mom and Dad Egbert, Grant, and Derek. Everybody got the princess chicken, except Kevin's older brother Derek.. what an outcast.
Me and Kevin just relaxed all day, then headed over to the reception when it started... IT WAS SO GORGEOUS!!! I felt like a queen. It was a little tough fitting back into my little dress after eating out our whole honeymoon. They served Carne Asada and chicken tacos, Kevin's mom wanted the food to have a Mexican theme because Kevin served his mission in Hermosillo, Mexico. I wish we had pictures but i havent seen any yet from that reception
. My friends Julie and Jeff came that i havent seen in forever! Everyone there were people kevin grew up with, and it was great getting to know them! I got cornered by the "family history man" that was in Kevin's ward and he talked to me about family history for at least 20 mintutes! He had a lot of cool things to say, so i kept asking questions... so i guess im to blame. haha.

LAGUNA BEACH

We drove down to Laguna Beach for a week for our honeymoon. We ate at In-n-Out for lunch, what a healthy start for us. We spent 7 hours in the car that day and I already started to hate the toll roads. Laguna was so beautiful! It was warm and sunny almost the entire week. We stayed at a place called Aliso Creek Inn, it was The Rat Pack's old hang out place apparently and Kevin spent his summer vacations there growing up.

We started off our day by buying a brand new digital camera, the Canon SX110IS. It was pretty :) We spent all day downtown looking at all of the shops on Ocean Avenue and walking on the beach, too much walking... my feet were killing me by the end of the day! We went back to our place and grabbed our scriptures and some sparkling cider to celebrate our first family home evening together... and what better place than the beach!

KNOTT'S BERRY FARM DAY!
We scored cheap tickets to Knotts from McDonalds. I have never been there before, so it was exiting. It was not very crowded during the daytime, so we were able to ride a lot of rides many times, my favorite was Supreme Scream! Kevin took a picture of a picture of us on the Silver bullet so we didn't have to buy it... so smart! haha. Kevin was raving about this jail guy who knew everything about you all day so we went to this booth with a dummy in a cell that talked to us. Kevin told me that he magically knew his name and where he was from just by looking at him, so i was intrigued. When we got there Kevin jumped in front of the guy and said "remember me?" and they guy had no idea, kevin was so sad... then he called his brother and asked why the jail bird didn't remember him. His brother started laughing so hard. Apparently there is a booth to the side that Kevin didn't know about and the parents are supposed to slip the guy a piece of paper with the kids info on it, and Kevin was still tricked to this day! HAHAHA it was the funniest thing, Kevin was so disappointed... oh and did i tell you how much i hate toll roads? We missed a turnoff to pay for a toll and got our picture taken to get a fine for 150 bucks... great...

NEW YEARS EVE!!!
Well, we woke up then went to do a round of golf, but the driving range looked a little less intimidating so we went there instead. We had a blast, kevin is crazy with a golf club. We also went to the beach today, I took mermaid pictures of Kevin and we picnic'd on the rocks by the ocean. Today was our day to relax and recuperate from yesterday. We went to a little Mexican restaurant on the beach for dinner and had the best burritos i have ever tasted. The best part of the day was that we went to bed at 10. Well we watched the countdown in New York and most importantly we watched Robbie Maddison jump onto the building in Vegas... thats all you need for a new years eve in our book!

CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE DAY!
Last night we were woken up a lot by the partiers next door, they were blasting Madonna at 4 in the morning. I told kevin we should go to the front desk and get a discount. Well, the partiers apparently were the golf resort managers to they gave us a refund.... our toll ticket paid for.. YES! Then i got the bright idea to call the toll company and see if they could have mercy on us... which they did! Im so smart... :) Friends of our family got us the hookup to free tickets to California adventure! It was fun, but way overpacked. We were there for about half a day and got more rollercoasters (and kids rides.. hehe) out of our system, we even watched an interactive show with Crush from Finding Nemo! :)

Today we went with Grandma and Grandpa Mackay to the Newport Beach Temple to do a session with them. It was a great experience, and every married woman there had a huge rock on their hand. When i told his grandma that she whispered to me "Newport spells money honey"... i guess that explains it. Our grandparents then took us to Cheesecake Factory for a huge dinner! I was so good! Best of all the bill came out to $0.00, my favorite price! :) Well tomorrow we both head to Livermore for our second reception.

MARRIAGE FOR TIME AND ETERNITY

The sealing in the Sacramento Temple was scheduled for 10:00 AM, and Kevin had to drive that morning from Livermore, (1.5 Hours away) and i only had to drive 5 minutes from my house. The ceremony was great! We had about 50 people crammed in the room and my Grandpa Johnson married us in the temple.


Krystina's moms side of the family is not LDS so they waited outside the temple for us, she was so happy to see them there! It was so beautiful outside, no rain or clouds, which was great for the middle of winter! Apparently it was freezing outside, but I was a little distracted :). There were so many people there for me and Kevin, it was awesome! We took pictures outside of the beautiful temple, mostly goofy ones... figures. With the help from my oh so talented photographers, Aunt Pam Kloth, Uncle Grant Johnson and Uncle Jim Crummett. (Free pictures saved our budget and they turned out amazing!)


After the pictures were done we all headed over to the Spaghetti Factory down the road. We had so many people there! The dinner was great and everyone had Spumoni ice cream for dessert. Kevin's Dad, Bill Egbert, Gave a little speech for us, then he made EVERYONE in the room say something. It was great! Jessica Jankowski cried. My Mom, Kymberly Nance bawled and couldn't even get a word out. My sister, Rhiannon Bradford, 8 months pregnant still stood up. My good friend, Hannah Millar said some sarcastic remark :) haha. We got some great advice and everyone on Kevin's side of the family seemed to be warning me about Kevin, and everyone on my side were warning him about me... we really are perfect for each other aren't we!

It was now time for the reception, it was at the San Juan Stake Center in Fair Oaks, CA. We set up the night before, and the place was beautiful. We chose not to have a line, and somehow we ended up by the door greeting everyone anyways. So many people came to show us their support, people all the way from Idaho, Arizona, and Southern California. Kevin's friend Kurtis Lett traveled 12 hours just to come to our reception! At one point during the chaos I snuck away and raced my niece Maddison up and down the cultural hall. The food at the reception was great i think? All i could do was sneak my fingers into the meatball dish every chance i got. When it got time to cut the cake, it was supposed to be a peaceful matter, but it got out of hand when i smeared cake on Kevin's face :) There was a large group of single ladies at the reception so it was a gladiator death match when i threw the bouquet. By the end of the reception it was harder to get kevin out of a chair than making a cow go down a staircase... he was such a trooper.

At around 8 people cleared out and me and Kevin changed, said our goodbyes and were off to our fancy hotel in Roseville (20 minutes away), and about ten minutes on the road i realize that i forgot my bag at the reception!!! Kevin was not too happy about that...
