Transformation is Complete...

I have turned into my grandmother.

Kevin and I occasionally joke that as soon as a ring went on my finger I turned in to my grandma. I cringe at every brake light while Kevin drives and I am always checking the speedometer. That, I think, is forgiveable.

Even the occasional "whoopadiddy" is excuseable. But yesterday I did the unthinkable....

I said "Heaven's to betsy!" while changing Sam's stinky diaper.

Yes. Those words came out of my mouth. Transformation is complete.

 

Now I just hope I can be as beautiful as her one day.

My new favorite time waster....

 

A Few lessons learned/Way Late Halloween Pictures

1. I learned not to try and let a babies diaper rash dry out when they have diarrhea...
2. I learned that when you cut your hair and you are a mother (even a totally [self proclaimed] cool one), someone is bound to tell you that you have a "mom hair cut."  Even if you don't have said mom hair cut.
3. I learned that some people are out to get you. Just because.
4. I learned that no one can take you seriously when you have a retainer in your mouth... and your 23...
5. I learned how much I love bosses that respect and appreciate you.

We are off to Las Vegas in the morning to meet up with Gma and Gpa Johnson at my Aunt Cindy's for the Thanksgiving holiday.  So excited!

P.S. Here's our last minute halloween costumes for our church's Trunk-or-Treat. Last minute I decided to actually dress up this year so snuck upstairs and rummaged through Kevin's closet and put this piece together, and surprised kevin with a reminder of how cool (again, self proclaimed) I am. He told me I was weird and that he was not going to dress up. After some shameless begging and pouting to no avail, I gave up and went upstairs to get Sam ready. When we came downstairs we were surprised to see a handsome firefighter in the kitchen! Sneaky Kevin snuck down to the fire-station and got his Fire Suit. I was SO HAPPY!

After the church activity our friends, the Patey's and Muhlstein's, came over with their precious daughters and we had a baby photo shoot.

Weddings, Airplanes, Dumplings, and Tubs

Kevin's brother Trent got married at the end of August so we flew out to Spokane to enjoy their Wedding. It was Sam's first time on the plane and he did great. When we were sitting down for the first flight the lady behind us gave us a dirty look, and moved as far away from us as she could. Sam did not fuss or yell once. We sure showed her! Those small victories make me such a proud mother.

Now on to some pictures from that weekend.

Sam makes the funniest faces when he sees the camera sometimes, and i just had to keep this one.

 Yesterday the weather was especially gloomy after church, so I was in the mood for some comfort food. 

I have never made Chicken and Dumplings, so I decided to change that.

I found a recipe online that was very easy and it tasted great. 

...

It stormed really hard, and it was the first time Sam actually was aware of the thunder and I loved watching his reactions.  

Yummy food!

 Sam helped me cook, and his payment was baby food!

 After dinner I gave Sam his first bubble bath so I could post some naturally censored pictures.

Laguna Beach 2011

Every year the Mackay's (Kevin's Mother's side of the family) have a reunion in Laguna Beach.

We lounged on the beach at least 4 hours a day, played games after dark, toured Downtown Laguna, and enjoyed each-others company all week long.

In the middle of the week we congregated on the beach for a photo shoot, so behold....

We placed Caleb and Sam in the lounge chairs to see how they interacted. They showed an interest in each other, but Caleb preferred entertaining the camera and Sam preferred gnawing on his hands! 

I got a snapshot of the women photographing the babies,

and I cropped for modesties-sake!

Derek got stung in the foot by a stingray and he had a bad reaction. The lifeguards had to cut off his wetsuit, poor wetsuit. I mean Derek! :) 

 The paparazzi caught Trent and Amanda soaking up the rays. 

The happy couple are getting married this weekend in Washington!

 Sam spent most of his time on the beach sleeping on Grandpa, 

so it wasn't very hard getting a totally cute picture of the two of them.

(If you look closely, you can see sam smiling in his sleep.)

Kevin looked so precious walking along the beach, I couldn't help myself!

Laguna Beach has a free trolley that goes along the coast, it is perfect for trips downtown.

We packed Sam in the Baby Bjorn and we were on our way.

Derek found a way to keep busy waiting for the trolley, 

talk about well-rounded!

The trip was a blast and we look forward to this many more years to come! 

I have come to one conclusion...

 I need to figure out a way to get in more of my pictures!

I will work on that.

Boating on Utah Lake

So we were so busy having fun I only had a chance to snap a couple pictures of Kevin.

It was both our first times wake boarding and it was a blast.

I got up on the first try and so did kevin!

Sam was not a big fan of his life jacket.

He was either crying, eating,or sleeping practically the whole time.

He was jealous, that he couldn't go out :)

The Patey's are AMAZING for taking us boating, 

it was an awesome day.

Birthday Dinner at Happy Sumo

Kevin surprised me and took me to Happy Sumo the night before my birthday. It is pretty hard for us to justify going to nice dinners when we can use that money for toys! 

Kevin works night shifts so it is hard to get out to dinner when our schedules are the exact opposite, but this weekend kevin didn't have work so we were able to play the whole weekend!

Sam is such a great sport, he hardly ever complains so it is very easy to take him out. 

And yes, I know this wont last very much longer.

 Its hard to get a smile out of this guy when the cameras are flashin...

It was a great night and the food was delicious! 

I love birthdays!
